Canalul Morii in Reghin is a channel, an old armlet of the Mureș river, which was originally used to support various trades of the “lower city” and later on, for generating electricity. After the 90’s, garages and kiosks were temporarily built on both banks, with their back to the water and led to the “disappearence”of the waterscape as a presence in the the urban landscape.
We proposed to give back the waterscape to the citizens and create a leisure for the neighbourhood and for all citizen, according to Față de Mureș concept
The project won the prize for public space at BATRA-Bienala de Arhitectură Transilvania 2013 and was shortlisted at the European Public Space Prize 2014
